Hi,

I have just taken over as IT manager for a company and we the company has now moved to SAP the companies CFO asked me if she could still access the GP 2016 files as we have been audited and she needs information from it. So I can’t find the original CDs to install on a virtual machine She has given me the final backup copy of the file but I need the setup files to be installed first before I can restore the back. Can someone please send me a link to download it. It is urgent. Thanks

Make sure you set it up the same way it was before...version...hot fixes...etc.

Thanks Frank. But I can’t find the user name or password he used to download it through the customer source. I’ve checked his emails and reactived his email address to see but nothing. Unless it was the old CFO or CEO or someone else in the IT dept emails that setup the account. I need to find the direct download link. It’s link finding a needle in a hay stack. I asked the CFO for the invoice but it’s going to take days/weeks to find it in the paper copies in archives.

All official links will require you to have access to customer source to get the file (login required) - if not, you can check with your partner to get you moving.

Thanks Shawn, that’s the problem we don’t know who our partner is. I wouldn’t be having this problem if I did. All I know is that it has been upgraded from 2010 to 2016 I have even called Microsoft and they gave me a email address it’s been 2 weeks and I’m still waiting for a reply. Is there another way?

Do you have access to his/her Email? I can't imagine a GP Partner not keeping in contact with a Customer. There must be something related to the upgrade to 2016 that will identify the Partner of record and get you the information you need.

You could also call sales operations and they can tell you who is your partner. There is also a form they can send you to have them change the company contact. Just call and don't let them hang up until you have the information you need.

You indicate that you have a backup copy of the file, so I'm guessing that is the SQL Company database? If so, can you just use SQL to search for transactions or do you really need the GP UI?
