Process Mining

Hi,

I'm starting to look at Process Mining and would need to do it for Business Central.

Is it possible to obtain CSV files with the Business Central event log to import them into PowerAutomate Process Mining?

Is it something that comes with the standard or does it have to be custom made?

Thank you.

To confirm, are you using the on premise version of Business Central? Or cloud?

Looks like it needs customization, at least the CSV files generation part.
If the file already exists in BC, then no customization is needed.

Or you try to export the data directly and then create the csv file outside.
    For exmaple,
How to export data from Business Central to Google Sheets/Google Drive with Power Automate (No customization)
How to export data from Business Central to a csv file with Power Automate (No customization) – JSON to csv

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for your answers.

    It is the cloud version.

What I need is a log of the actions or tasks of what is done in the system, an activity record to be able to create the CSV required by the Process Mining platform and analyze the processes.

    Something like this ...

    Thank you

As far as I know Business Central doesn't really create a log like that or have anything in that format. Perhaps you can look into telemetry? Monitoring and Analyzing Telemetry - Business Central | Microsoft Learn Specifically Analyzing client action telemetry - Business Central | Microsoft Learn and Page View Telemetry - Business Central | Microsoft Learn. You can also look into using the Change Log in Business Central, but that's more geared toward field changes, rather than specific tasks/actions performed.

Also, perhaps you can even use APIs for transactional tables to extract the data that way?

I think we are going to develop it. It seems like the easiest solution.

A table with the events that we want to monitor in Process Mining with the necessary information.

    Thank you so much.
