Ultimate Step By Step Guide For On Premise Sharepoint Integration (Server Based Authentication, Not List Integration)

Looking to integrate CRM 2016 and Sharepoint 2013, both on premise. Been trying to integrate the two for the last three weeks. I have never seen a process with more pitfalls and gotchas. This is the guide Microsoft has, has anybody else successfully used this??? The area for Sharepoint Configuration blows me away as each prereq generally branches off serveral times on its own. Does anybody have just a separate "Setting up Sharepoint for Apps step by step" guide they used in conjunction with CRM?

Edit: For clarification, Server Based Authentication, Not List Integration

Prashant, thank you for the quick reply but did you look at the link I sent? Unfortunately I am trying to do server based authentication/integration and not the easy list-based integration. CRM 2016 is the last CRM to support list based integration so it does not make sense to use it anymore.

Thank you for trying Prashant but it looks like we still aren't on the same page. The links you've sent are either for hosted/online CRM or just talking about the CRM side. Do you see what I mean with the link in my original post about both being on premise? I've tried to work with links like this:

    https://absolute-sharepoint.com/2013/02/troubleshooting-setting-up-an-environment-for-apps-for-sharepoint-2013.html

When your sharepoint is on premise and not online, setting this up is more than just a few clicks in CRM, that's where I am having difficulty.
