Purchasing Role Center

In Business Central, I'm trying to set the Role Center for purchasing. The one called "Purchase" doesn't have anything defined, and the "Purchase Agent" role has very few menus available. Isn't there one similar to the Sales Role Center that includes menus like Purchasing, Planning, and Inventory? Which one do you usually configure for purchase managers and purchase employees?

    Hi,

For Purchase you can try Accounts Payable Coordinator, this role has more proper function than Purchasing Agent.

Also if you want to make a role with mix of Purchase, Planning and Inventory you mostly need to Personalize or Customize the role center from Front end(Customize and Personalize) or Development whichever you prefer.

Business Central doesn’t provide a predefined “Purchasing Role Center” like Sales. Most companies start with the Purchasing Agent role and then customize it to add menus such as Purchasing, Planning, and Inventory. For purchase managers, roles like Business Manager can also be tailored. If you need a more advanced setup, it’s best to work with your Microsoft partner to create a custom Role Center that matches your processes.

    Hello,

In Business Central, the standard Purchase Role Centers are limited. For purchase managers or staff, you can customize a Role Center to include menus for Purchasing, Planning, and Inventory as per your company’s needs.

Thank you all for your answers. Do you know the reason why these purchase roles are not yet defined?

If you love the Sales one which is Sales Order Processor, you can take it a base and create the same for purchasing and take away those which you don't need.

Hi, If it is standard, I recommend Business Manager, which contains information related to Purhcasing.

In addition, you can customize your own role center, of course this requires some development knowledge.

    Hello,

There is a Role which is called Purchasing agent.
There are several options. I hope that this will help.
The ID of the object from the Role center is: 9007 - Purchasing Agent Role Center

    Best thing to do is:

Find a Profile Role that has most everything you need.
Make a copy and modify it by removing things you don't want the users to have.
Assign that new Profile Role to the user.

    - Search for "Profiles (Roles)" using the 🔍 search bar.
    - Select the profile you want to copy.
    - Click "Copy Profile" from the action bar.
    - Give your new profile a unique name and ID.
    - Once copied, you can:
    - Customize the Role Center layout.
    - Modify page access, actions, and navigation menus.
    - Assign the new profile to specific users
