I’ve done some testing with PowerApp, Flow, Common data model and there is one issue, which is preventing me to use it for our own software development: whenever I create a news database or import my CRMsolution entity model in, I get the following message box:
"By choosing Create instance, you agree Microsoft can use entity and field names that you create (but not content in the database tables) to help improve our common data model. These names may be stored in our diagnostic systems and copied across regions."
Now this is a problem for us as we have created OneFactor solution, which includes full data (entity) model for wealth/asset/fund management business. Including financial instruments, issuers, transactions, positions, fifo calculations, profit/loss, bank and custody accounts just to name a few.
And to me it feels kind of extreme to give permission for my very detailed model to Microsoft for free. We are a market leader now in Finland and are ramping up our installations in Sweden too. OneFactor is not just another “put excel or SharePoint list to PowerApps” – it is a full-blown financial application, which replaces legacy financial systems for our customers and thus contains remarkable IPR for us.
So my question: is anyone using Power Platform with real applications – where they have their own IPR in entity model – or is this just meant for “move lists from excel” apps ? Or have I misunderstood that text ?
