Afternoon,
I have a number of users reporting that their user personlisation keeps resetting to default - I initially explained this as a result of any object changes but it appears to be occuring during minor changes such as permission changes ? Also one user informed me that only one of their pages reset, the others retained their personalisation ?
Under what circumstance could this occur?
And in general, under what circumstances do user personlisations reset ? Is there a better or best practice way of handling it ?
Try to copy the data from the User Personalization table and then make the permission change and then export it again and compare both and check what is changed.
We replicated it in our live environment by personalising two pages then changing a user's permission to super and only one users personalisation dissapeared.
Best guess I have right now is corrupt user customisation XML??
Try to check if there any platform hotfixes which reported this issue. How you replicated it?
In this scenario the user lost only specific personalisation to one page, i thought it could be down to XML corruption ?
So are we saying that there are no scenarios where permission changes could affect this ? as i have multiple occurrences where it did, i even replicated the issue,.
I can't think of a scenario when the personalization gets deleted unless you run delete user personalization. Even the objects changes or restart of the services should not affect the personalization.

No, we have passive redundancy at server level but that shouldn't affect it as the failover wouldn't occur until outage occurs.
