Hi Members,

BC User can change customer name, but it gets reset after some time. User have permission to modify Customer table. If we assign D365 Full access (default) permission to user, He can edit the customer.
What permission should we assign to him to change customer name?

Regards,
Arjun

User needs to have Modify permission to table 18 - Customer.
Then he can change the name.

Not sure what You mean with it gets Reset after some time? maybe You have some integration like Shopify or Datavserse, where the wrong name is, and it gets pushed to BC ?

I would second Kaspars point that records in BC do not get reset on their own.  Once a change is made, it is saved in the system.  You likely have an integration that is updating the Customer Name from a secondary data source.  You either need to make your integration bi-directional, so the change in BC gets pushed to the other data source OR update the data in the other data source as well so it doesn't get pulled back into Business Central.

If the user doesn't get an error message when changing the customer name, it's possible that there is an integration that updates back the Customer name from other source (such as CRM).

Hi, you may consider customization, or solutions from other partners.
    For example,

In addition, there is a simple way starting from BC23, but users can also open it themselves, but I think this should solve many problems.
Business Central 2023 wave 2 (BC23): Customize field editability from UI (Lock editing & Unlock editing)

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

Do integrations like Shopify or Datavserse often cause disruptions?
