Product configuration attributes

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to set up a configuration model. Everything went well and I can configure products based on attributes in sales and purchase orders. Two things I am struggling to do:

1. To set up product variants without using a sales or production order

2. To see a product variant attributes. For example, if I have a product variant based on a configuration comprising of 3 attributes, where do I see these 3 attribute values for this certain product variant.

Thanks in advance.

BR,

Simeon

    Hi Simeon,

You can check the Use configuration nomenclature parameter to display attributes after configuring the product on SO/PO: docs.microsoft.com/.../product-variant-identification-nomenclature

You only can configure product on sales orders, sales quotations, purchase orders, and production orders for configuration product.

Additional to MATTGUO's Suggestion, you can do this:

Activate this product Information Management Parameter:

This will generate a note-attachment (e.g. on salesline, where you did confiugration):

And do you think there is a way to Mass import all product configuration variants?

    Hi Simeon,

    Is the first question resolved?

You can try to use Released product variants entity, but i do not think system will allow you import the product configuration variants.

    You could investigate These entities:

    - ProductNumberIdentifiedProductVariants

    - ProductNumberIdentifiedReleasedProductVariants

    - ProductVariants

    - ReleasedProductVariants

==> These entities allow odata- or DMF-processing. You can try to load configuration variants through Excel (or DMF).

But it would be a big challange to load configuration values related to These configurations and I can't imagine, that this is possible w/o development ...

    Hi,

Can we restrict what can be shown in notes? The requirement for one of our client is they have a lot of calculations which are hidden and does not want to show in Notes.

Also, we are printing these details in the sales quote and restrict them to few details.
