Is there anyway to have a quote appear as an activity in a case?

If not as an activity, then is there a way to enable quotes elsewhere on the case form?

Sorry no the quote entity is not an activity type entity. I am assuming you want to see a record of when you issued a quote along with the standard activities. I would suggest that you could create a task with a suitable subject line and embed a hyperlink to the quote.

You could use a workflow to do this

OOTB Quote entity is not an activity, therefore no - it will not never be possible to use it in this sense. You could link both entities via additional relationship. Alternatively, you can create as custom Quote entity to act as a shadow record for your sales BPF, which will allow you to include the quote completion behaviour, which I would guess is the whole purpose of linking Case and Quote together.

Thanks for your help. I have created a 1:N relationship so that users can now create quotes within a Case.

If a user creates an order or an invoice after, is there a way to automatically have that order or invoice associated with the case upon creation? Assuming I create another 2 more 1:N relationships for orders and invoices.

Yes, this should be able to achieve via workflow or plugin upon, creation of Order and Invoice. This can be achieved by simple system workflows, where automation updates new Order record adding parent Case value (once you add this relationship) with value from parent Quote case lookup; and for new Invoice record automation sets parent Case lookup value based upon Order's Case lookup.

Hi Trieu,

No..

Only Closed Quote Activity you can show under Activity grid...

If you have link from Quote lookup field to Case then of course you can show it.

Just add the Quote Subgrid after you added the relationship
