I have been hearing that Microsoft is retiring the crystal reports from GP 2010. Is it true? that means, it will become unsupported technology for GP 2010 soon?

Crystal used to be a recommended reporting tool. Then came SSRS and MS stated that they would no longer support Crystal Reports. You can still use Crystal to create reports against 2010 and 2013 databases and even hang the reports in the Navigation column on the left of the page. You can even use Accountable's forms printer and some of Victoria Yuden's products to substitute Crystal (or SSRS) reports for forms and/or standard reports.
Bottom line is, while the owners would not sell Crystal to MS, you can still use it. However, (now I have used Crystal since Version 1 and really like it) try using SSRS. It will take you a bit to learn it as it works slightly different from Crystal but it really has some POWERFUL components. AND, we have a great book that teaches SSRS. Check out our web site.
As Richard says, you can use Crystal Reports with any version of GP. It's simply a reporting tool - as long as you can point it successfully to your data in SQL Server, you can use it. I use both Crystal Reports and SSRS regularly for different customers and for our internal reports. Both have their pros and cons.
If you're looking for a way to seamlessly integrate Crystal Reports (and SSRS reports, too) into your Dynamics GP 2010, take a look at our GP Reports Viewer product.
