Cannot add a batch during cycle counting

Hello,
When we were on AX2012 we were able to add a batch to a location during a cycle count using the handheld. In D365, when we try to enter a batch in a location during a cycle count we get the error that the "Batch ID is invalid". It is a common occurrence we find batches in locations that should have been picked in full. We need to be able to add and count the batch in during the cycle count. How do we do this in D365 on the mobile device?
I have the same question (0)

    Good day,

Could you check the parameter "Display batch number" of the cycle count menu item?

    Best regards,

Hi @Laurens vd Tang for the Spot counting menu items which is where the users were reporting the issues, the parameter Display batch number is turned off. Should it be turned on?

    Good day,

Yes, my advice is to switch it on and try again.

@Laurens vd Tang Thank you, I switched it on and it removed the ability to scan/enter the batch during the spot count which I do not believe the users will like. However, I was able to add in a new batch via new item/license plate after counting the batches that were expected in that location. I turned it back off and completed the same test and was also able to add a new batch via new item/license plate after counting the batches that were expected in that location. Is this the only way you can add a batch in D365, after you have already counted what should have been in there?

    Hi,

Yes, if you want to add stock which was not expected by the system than after all expected items are counted user can in the end use the 'Add Item or license plate' option to add new items with dimensions (Batch in your case)

On mobile counting this is the only option. Adjustment in is generally not recommended.

Below a batch was added for the item (Fresh addition which did not exist before).

Counting work now in pending review for manager.
