Image module no using mode

I followed this doc https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/e-commerce-extensibility/image-component at add a mode to the Image

However even when I use only the default settings with the mode, the correct mode is still not applied on the page load...

Is there something wrong with the Image component or my code??

Turns out removing the q field from the viewports solved this for me
