Thank you Adam. I installed on my Windows 2012 server MSSQL 2008 and trying Dynamics SL 7 FP1 on it. But , running Microsoft Dynamics SL Database Maintenance ,I am stil getting the same message " SQL 2005 SP1 required ...." .
On my Windows server 2008R2 with MSSQL2008 this Dynamics 7 SP1 is running normally .
Can it be caused by Windows server ?.
Unfortunately, SL 7.0 feature pack 1 is not supported with SQL 2012. You can view the system requirements here:
mbs.microsoft.com/.../msd_sl7systemrequirements.htm requirements SL feature pack
I am sorry. Actually it connected to server but did not continue saying: "SQL Server 2005 SP1 is required for this screen and Microsoft Dynamics SL."
9829000.exe version is 7.03.21026.00 .
What is your version of the 9829000.exe file (located in the SL root directory\SM folder)
Thank you for post, Carolyn . I installed on my Windows2012 MSSQL2008 , but stil have the same problem running Microsoft Dynamics SL Database Maintenance. It can not be connected and requires SQL 2005 SP1 .
I wonder, problem could be solved if create schema for MS Dynamics 7 FP1 manually in this server, because we have difficulties on upgrade to SL 2011. Pls, anyone, what would you advace
Hi Bold-Erdene,
SQL Server 2012 isn't a supported version of SQL Server for Dynamics SL 7.0 FP1. It most likely won't work. You would need to upgrade to Dynamics SL 2011. Please see the system requirements guide that can be found on the product download page for 7.0 and for SL 2011 for supported environments for either version.
Hi, Carolyn,
I recently installed MSSQL 2012 Std x64 and restored on it Dynamics SL 7FP1 database from backup file. But Database Maintenance can not be connected to SQL server from XP computers . IT says "SQL Server 2005 SP1 is required for this connection". On SQL 2008 x64 was no problem. We ave users with XP, Windows 7 x64 and x86 computers. Pls, help to solve this connection problem.
I have just successfully upgraded from Solomon 6.0 to SL 2011 running SQL 2012 on a Hyper-V server. I am testing my screens now but things seem good at this point. There are several hot fixes for teh server and clients to install during the process.
Hi Bob,
The KB article is 2697847. I mistyped it above and I'm so sorry for the confusion. The link is mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx
