Hello All,

I am basically a beginner in CRM development.

I just want to know how to push my Development CRM to Different Environments like ( TEST, PROD)?

Will the Deployment Procedure Will be the same For Online and On Premise?

Will this be the same Procedure for Deploying Solutions,Plugins and Custom Workflows?

Hi Kar

Dynamics CRM allows you to create, export and import Managed and Unmanged Solutions xml / zip file to ship your customisations, plugins and workflows etc, the following will help you understand solutions;

HI,

Its depends on what your company prefer and plan. Some uses Unmanaged solutions and some Managed. I my self prefer to use managed solutions in QA and PROD. Because it is easy to remove them. and are removed as a whole, all components are removed with the solution.

If you just want to create different organizations on same server and want to deploy the your customization, Then you can import the managed or unmanaged solution from current environment and export it on TEST and production environment. This procedure will be same as on-premise and online.

If you want to create the new environments from scratch on different server and if you have CRM on-premise then please follow below steps.

1.      Install CRM on different server

2.      Take database backup of current CRM.

3.      Restore database on new server

4.      Import the organization from Deployment manger with different name.

Once you follow the it will create new test environment.
