Using Warehouse Management without Warehouse App

Hello everyone,
We will be starting with D365 this year, including warehouse management. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to get the warehouse app to work satisfactorily on Android or Windows in our OnPrem environment. The ticket with Microsoft has been open for almost a year now.
Of course, we hope that MS will get it right, but what happens if it doesn't or if the app fails in productive operation? Then our operations come to a standstill.
Hence the question of whether there is a good solution for working without the Warehouse app, without having to make all the bookings manually. That would only be manageable for a few days.
Thanks in advance

No, it's unfortunately not possible to use much of the WHS without the app.
I'd like to know what issues you have with the app? It should not be that bad that you cannot use it.

Which D365 app are you talking about? If it's D365 Supply Chain Management, let's move this thread to Supply chain | Supply Chain Management, Commerce forum.

If the Warehouse app isn’t working, consider using barcoding/scanning solutions integrated with D365 or custom workflows to handle operations. Tools like Power Automate can also help automate bookings temporarily.

there are new developments in this case. We have now managed to maintain the login for a few hours. This has been tested on two Android devices and the Windows Warehouse app.

Our last action that seems to have worked was the following:
    Set-AdfsProperties -WIASupportedUserAgents @("MSIE 6.0", "MSIE 7.0; Windows NT", "MSIE 8.0", "MSIE 9.0", "MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6", "Windows NT 6.3; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.2; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.2; Win64; x64; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.1; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; Trident/7.0", "Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/7.0","Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; Trident/7.0", "MSIPC", "Windows Rights Management Client", "=~Windows\s*NT.*Edg.*","Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT)","*Chrome*","Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X)","Mozilla/5.0")

However, the login should last for 90 days if no action is taken and be updated “indefinitely” if the device is used.
Currently you are logged out after approx. 8 hours. Do you have any influence on this time? We need that 90 days.

    Greetings
    Marco

Hmm... This is odd. By default the Tenant-wide session lifetime is 90 days, as specified in the documentation. It could be because of an Entra-Id policy that changes this.

We've using CAP's to manage session timeouts, here you can define the timeout based on conditions such as IP's or browsers: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/howto-conditional-access-session-lifetime

If you are not the Entra-Id admin, have a chat with them about it. They can also troubleshoot why you have to reatuthenticate every day.

We only have a few Entra-ID policies and non of them changes the session lifetime. But since we have an OnPrem ADFS and D365 the Entra-ID is not involed in the process. Or am I wrong?

    Get-AdfsProperties | Select-Object -Property SSOLifetime

SSO Lifetime was set to 480 = 8 hours...

That would fit. I have now set this to 90 days and will test it. Thanks for the tip!

    It works! Thank you!

There is still the problem that the refresh token doesn't work, but at least we can work with the system.
