By activating April update earlier, will it change crm version?

Hi Vijay Kumar,
The update will occur at the scheduled date. A Customer Engagement apps system administrator is required to approve an update, and they can reschedule an update as long as it has not started.
It's not clear either way if the version number will be updated. The only way to be sure is to try it. My suspicion is that Microsoft are being deliberately vague, as it may be that some code will remain on the current version, with the preview pieces on a different version
