Hi experts

I heard if I use assembly item in Sales Invoice then BOM of those items will not consume. is this accurate?

Also, if I want BOM of assembly item consume during shipping what is the setup? I mean without creating assembly order or anything else.

I have the same question (0)

you won't be able to automatically produce item and consume components if you use sales invoices, which will sell the finished item from inventory. You need to use sales order and it will create an assembly order and post consumption when the SO shipment and/or invoiced. Below screenshot shows the field SO use to create assembly order. The setup is pretty straight forward and is well explained in below videos

Hi, yes, in Sales Order, Assembly Order can be created automatically, but there is no such function in Sales Invoice.

    Thanks appliwin and yzhums

I wish this was possible since in many cases (such as intercompany) sales invoice is way better method than sales order.

    Mr Zhu

I assume this is related to codeunit and limitation. Do you see any possibility that through customization this could work?

    Thanks

Hi, I did a quick check of the standard code and it looks like it can be customized.
