Shared Dashboard not visible to one user

Dynamics 2013, on-premise

A personal dashboard was shared with two users with the same role. The views were also shared. One user can see them all but the other can see the views in My Views but not the dashboard. Is there a personal setting for this user that keeps her from seeing a dashboard? Thanks.

Try these suggestions:

1. Can they see any other personal dashboards? Can they create personal dashboards themself?

Security Role Privileges:

Personal Options for dashboards are on Core Records>User Dashboard - you either can read/create/update those or not.

2. Are they a tablet user:

Shared dashboards are not available for use (where they have been shared to that user) in Tablets.

3. Can they see other (systems) dashboards?

Security Role Privileges:

Customizations>Systems Chart / System Form can only be set at an organization level (on/off)

If there was an issue seeing shared views the I'd be looking at their security role privileges.

* Core Records>Saved View is what gives you which views they can see. If they weren't in the same business unit then that could require a change in privileges.

Web resources & Iframes are also necessary to display dashboards - but they're set to default to business wide.

Check for the same in

Setting > Security Role > <Select Role> > Core Records Tab.

This dashboard is visible by other users with the same role. She can see the saved views but not the dashboard. It doesn't appear in her list at all.

I shared a different dashboard with her and she can see that one.

I marked two answers as solving the issue because they may work for others. In this case, users with the same role could see the dashboard and my sharing the problem dashboard worked. But it doesn't explain why.

Hello,

I see this is an older post, but I had the same issue. I found that even though I had shared my view with the user, I did not share my chart with the user. Once I shared the chart, the user could then see my chart on the dashboard.

@DGPA2 - Your suggestion worked for me. Even though I shared dashboard and new views, the new chart was not shared. Since I was using new personal chart (not system chart) I has to share the chart to resolve the issue.

Hi,

this is an old question but I stumbled upon it and I think I had a similar issue which is now solved.

If you used "saved advanced search" to create the mentioned views, you need to share the relevant "saved advanced views" as well in order for them to appear and function in the shared dashboard.

Had this issue today and can confirm that you have to share the Chart and Views used to create the dashboard.
