POS Device Driver Setup Question

Hi, We are upgrading machines and getting away from the IBM SurePos system. I have no experience with individual device driver setup with RMS 2.0. Is everything plug n play or do the devices need OPOS drivers setup and named like you would do in the IBM SurePos OPOS setup? Thank you for any help. Josh
