William, Is this a new workstation? Has the user launched Excel before? I have seen errors if you try to ecport to Smartlist and it is the first time Excel has been opened. Perry Smith Senior Technical Consultant Integrated Systems Solutions Microsoft Gold Certified Partner

I'm hoping someone has a solution here. In our case the Office 2010 trial version was up so they updated to the full version. That's when this error came up. I found couple of tech docs saying to make sure the user had full access on the registry but that didn't resolve it.

Excel opens and is working other than the smartlist dump.

Logged on as Administrator on the network and sa into GP.

Many thanks for your reply, Perry.

Yes, this is the newly purchased workstation. This is the first computer that is come with Microsoft Office 2010 version, the rest are still using Office 2007. And this new computer has never been successfully launched Excel from the Smartlist.

We are wondering if the Office 2010 STARTER edition can work work with Dynamics GP 10 with FP1 SP4.

     Please advice and many thanks.

William, Has the user been able to open Excel from the Start Menu? I am not sure what the Office 2010 STARTER edition has, I will take a look at it when I have time. Perry

    Doug,

I have not seen that issue yet.  Does Smartlist do the same thing with Word?

Yes, it does it with word as well.

    William,

I wonder if the issue might actually be Windows 7 Starter?  (I am guessing that's what you meant by 'Start'?)  My understanding is that has limited functionality and while not explicitly stated on the requirements page for GP 10.0, I believe the only 'supported' editions are Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate.

    Victoria,

There is an Office 2010 Starter edition.  It is an OEM version of the product that is ad supported.  That may be the issue.  GP may see it as a non supported version.

Perry, I was actually talking about the OS edition, not Office, but it's possible that one or both are the issue...or the two together.  Looks like they are both Starter from what William is saying.

    Hi Victoria,

I understand, I answered pretty quick since my  phone was ringing.

Not so sure that it is the OS since GP is running, but it could be.  I have seen stranger things.

William, I would see about upgrading the Office 2010 to a fully licensed version.

    Perry
