Product Scanning auto Carriage Return

Hello,

 

I have a very basic question.  I am using a serial interfaced Voyager MS9520 barcode scanner.  I've setup my barcode wedge software postamp a carriage return (code 13).  My problem is... even after scanning in a product, I have to hit enter on the keyboard.  This would be quite a hassle if I were to ring up 50+ products.  Also, reading the manual... It states that items will automatically add quantity each time scanned but it doesn't do that.

 

Please help!  This is getting frustrating...

btw... wish there is a forum seach button. got tired looking for a solution after 12 pages.

Edit:  Also tried 77 as preamble... In notepad it works fine... there is a carriage return.  In MS RMS no...

    Hi JA,

    It occurs to me you need to program the scanner to perform the carriage return.  If you look into manual that came with scanner you should see instructions on how to do this.  Also contact your RMS partner and he should be able to help you as well.

    You need to set the scanner to send the carriage return if usb or keyboard wedge type.  If it is serial and not OPOS then you should have a program that is running that performs the interaction between Windows and your scanner.  Check the options in this program.  For Metrologic scanners it was called SoftWedge.  there should be an option to send LineFeed (LF) or Carriage Return(CR) or both.
