Set Ownership of Note Attachment on Custom Entity

(0) ShareShare

I am using an interface tool to create a record with an attachment in my custom entity.  I am able to set the ownership of the record for the entity to the required team.  The entity also has notes that I am attaching.  I am setting the Owner ID to the same data as the owner id on the custom entity but the name assigned on the note is still the service account that is performing the load.

Should it be possible to make the owner of an attachment a team?

Regards,

Diane

    The following is from the Message-entity support for Plugins, so to answer your question, you can assign an owner to the annotation entity:

    Message Name Primary Entity Secondary Entity Message Availability Entity Supported Deployment
    Assign Annotation NULL Server Server

    As you can see in the screenshot below, I have the annotation entity (Note) assigned to the Budgets Team. This was assigned as an OnDemand Workflow, but can be assigned otherwise.

    Results after Assignment:

    Hi,

     what tool are you using?

     If you are setting ownerid only, Dynamics might not be recognizing that Id as a team id.. see if you can also set owneridtype through that tool

    Our interfacing tool is SAP PI/PO product using the Advantco Dynamics CRM adapter.  I am using the following XML to insert an Invoice (custom entity).  I can successfully get the team set to SpiritAeroSystems on the record in the custom entity.  The same ownerid xml is used to set the attachment yet the owner is set to the name associated to the service account I am using (which is from Azure and cannot be set to something other than the owning person).

    XML used to set the owner of the entity

    <OwnerId>
    	<LogicalName>team</LogicalName>
    	<Query>
    		<fetch version="1.0" distinct="false" mapping="logical" output-format="xml-platform">
    			<entity name="team">
    				<attribute name="teamid"/>
    				<filter type="and">
    					<condition attribute="name" operator="eq" value="SpiritAeroSystems"/>
    				</filter>
    			</entity>
    		</fetch>
    	</Query>
    </OwnerId>

    XML used to set to the attachment's owner is the same

    <OwnerId>
    	<LogicalName>team</LogicalName>
    	<Query>
    		<fetch version="1.0" distinct="false" mapping="logical" output-format="xml-platform">
    			<entity name="team">
    				<attribute name="teamid"/>
    				<filter type="and">
    					<condition attribute="name" operator="eq" value="SpiritAeroSystems"/>
    				</filter>
    			</entity>
    		</fetch>
    	</Query>
    </OwnerId>

    Results are

    Hi Diane,

    what you see there is not the "owner" - it's "modified by"

    If you wanted to see the owner, go to the advanced find and build a view for all notes, for example..
