I tried to upload favicon files for my project inside of the Sitebuilder Media library. *.png, *.svg worked fine but I got the following error while uploading an *.ico file:

ico file upload error message

Is there a way to configure/extend the possible/allowed file types in Sitebuilder Media library?

Alternately, if you are not using the media gallery features you can host the file in any external hosting platform (like Azure file or blob storage) and access it in the application.

Thanks Paul Jackson  for you answer. Sadly that there is no way to extend this.

    Thanks JeevanG  for your answer.

Adding the favicon to the page itself is not the problem. It's more about get a working public url to the favicon.

I understand the limitation of the supported file types: learn.microsoft.com/.../dam-upload-files

The only way I see is to get the file into the application by using the src/public folder from the theme and link it relatively inside of the Sitebuilder HTML meta section.

If you are trying to add a favicon, follow the below steps  -

    learn.microsoft.com/.../add-favicon

Alternatively, you can try to upload the file as a non - image file using -

    learn.microsoft.com/.../dam-upload-files

Lastly, there isn't a way to extend site builder, you may want to convert the file into a supported file type.
