Currency Issues with Smart List Transaction Reports

(0) ShareShare

I have 2 issues with the Transaction w/Historical Data Conversion:

  -  Would like to 'search' report results by specific currency - not necessarily the functional currency for the company.  Tried adding the 'Currency ID' and 'Currency Index' and using the 'Search' function for a specific currency.  Results were inaccurate.

  -  Label on amount on report is not consistent with transaction.  Transaction shows 'British pounds' whereas report shows 'American dollars.

We need help to clean up this report and make it accurate.

Thanks!

Kay

Depends a little bit on module as to how the fields align but let me assume you are running Receivables Transactions and if so you should find 'Sales Amount' and 'Originating Sales Amount' as fields and the MC values will track to the Originating fields if it was entered as an MC transaction.

    Tim -

Thanks for the reply.  To be more specific, we are only running GL & AP.  This SmartList report is from GL.  It is on a company that has functional USD currency but items are recorded in other currencies - when necessary.

Any suggestions as to resolution of this issue?

    Thanks!

If you are running the GL Transactions smartlist then just adding the Originating Debit Amount and Originating Credit Amount field to the SmartList will give you the values of the transaction in the originating currency.  Debit Amount/Credit Amount fields will always be the USD values (in your example), the pair of Originating Debit/Credit fields will give you the MC values for that line.

Yes, we are running just GL.  But what I would like the SmartList to return are only the transactions that were made in a 'non-functional' currency like GBP in a USD functional currency company.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks!

    Hi Kay,

Seems simple such that maybe I'm missing something here that you are asking.  If I was asked to produce a SmartList at the GL for only non USD transactions it would go like this:

From the base GL Transactions Smartlist

Add the Originating Credit Amount, Originating Debit Amount and Currency ID fields.

Set a search restriction to not show USD (depends on what your USD Currency ID is)

    5127.Screen3.jpg

You should then get just the non USD transactions, the Originating Credit/Debit fields have the MC values.

If it looks good you could consider re-labeling the column names.

Then set it as a Favorite

    Hope that helps

    Tim
