Suddenly the ribbon in one the entities (Quote) is almost completely disabled. Any idea how I can find the reason / cause for this?

    Nestor,

It seems the only Ribbon that is enable is only the custom ribbon : WORD

SO, can you take a look using ribbon workbench, just in case having any enable rule, it seems the ribbon has been customized.

    Thank you.

    RE: Disabled Ribbon

    Yes it is weird.

This is happening for both a normal user AND for a system administrator so it is unlikely that permissions are involved. In any case which permissions do you suggest I review? I am not aware of any that affect button enabling and disabling as in this case.

BTW I already cleared the pool, restarted the applications, restarted IIS and the server is not in a "restart-needed" state from updates.

    This is weird
When you select any entity from left side navigation and not selected any record from grid..
still there are some ribbon button needs to enabled like New, delete,Run Report, Import Data, Export to Excel, Filter and Advanced Find.
Once you select any record then other buttons should enabled.

I think you need to check again user permissions or you can check is there any enable rules for quote entity ribbon using ribbonworkbench

    RE: Disabled Ribbon

In CRM while in Quotes, these tabs show all buttons as disabled: Quotes, Charts, Add, Customize.

View displays Filter and New Personal View as enabled.

When I select a single item in the quotes tab, a single button from an addin is enabled.

I just reviewed the ribbon and see nothing weird. Should I be looking for something in particular?

    RE: Disabled Ribbon

You need to login to you CRM server where you installed.

and On that server you will get event logs, in control panel under Administration Tools.

Check event logs to find any error related to CRM.

Easy way is to ask user to access that entity, if any error is logging into logs then you will find it.

@Mahadeo the user is a system admin. Ribbon was not modified, No JS for entire ribbon. Where do you suggest checking logs?

@Mithilesh. I will try workbench tomorrow. Will come back with results.

    Hi Nestor,

You can use Ribbon Workbence to check your Quote Entities ribbon.

You can download one from here if you don't have it based on your CRM Version

    ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/.../80806-download-ribbon-workbench-for-crm-2011-2013-2015

    1. Import Ribbon Workbence Solution to your Organization in CRM

    2. Create a Solution and add existing Entity Quote without any dependencies to the this Solution

    3. Open Ribbon Workbence and select the Solution created above with Quote Entity.

    4. Look for the button properties which is disabled on your browser.

    5. Try to rectify if you see any discrepancies.

    Some URL's for your reference

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
