Portals - Migrate develop instance to production

We have two dynamic 365 instances one for development and one for production. Each of the instances have the portals installed on them. We do all our development work on the development instance.

When we are done with our development we are wanting to move the new changes over to production, but don't really know the best way of doing this.  Does Microsoft have a tool that does this?

We have tried using the XRM toolbox that has a app called Portal Record Mover that move over entities from one instance to another.  However whenever we do it, it never works correctly and seems to fail over and over.

I wonder if since Microsoft acquired adx studio and branded it portals if they provide any tools that the community uses?  I really hope they don't intend us to do all of our work in a production environment.

Any tips, suggestions or help would go a long way,

Thanks.

As far as I know Portal Record mover is the only tool to move data from one instance to another.

The same is an issue with moving data in general from one instance to another.

You can try and move data using SSIS and Kingswaysoft possibly, but of course you will have to build your own logic.

    Good luck...

There are two tools in the XrmToolbox that might help in developing portals. The Portal Code Editor and the Portal Records Mover.

    Hi,

I have tried Portal Record Mover but like you It didn't moved all the records. I then switched to Configuration Migration tool to migrate the data from sandbox to production which works best for me. It also gives you more control compare to Portal Record Mover.

    Hope this helps.
