Navigation question to Management Reporter user security privileges. Someone helped me setup Management Reporter access through GP for the sa user to one of my 3 GP companies and Management Reports. Now, I need to give Management Reporter access to all my users to the other 2 companies. How does one navigate to the form/screen where other users can be given permission to access Management Reporter in GP2013? Yes to the answers, the web searches turned up worthless and my Management Reporter pdf manual refuses to display.

Navigation for Management Reporter runs down the left hand panel of the Management Reporter Window, which looks a bit like Outlook or Dynamics GP Menu structures. The Security tab is at the bottom of the list. Management Reporter Security runs through Active Directory, so you'll need to add users as Domain\User. You can select any one of the various Security Groups (Administrators, Designers, Generators, Viewers), the boxes displayed below, once the selection is made, will let you know the detail access provided by the choice. See the image below.

You will note there is a COMPANY ACCESS tab, which controls what companies the user(s) can access as well.

Looks like the the right track, but the new user form/screen does not show my user names (like your User Name is gray also) and the search fails (see image). Is there some other code word to link to the GP users? FYI, when my installation was made it uses a remote desktop to connect to the server, and there is no Management Reporter Icon, but 3 apps to Management Reporter Configuration, Report Designer (which is where I found your security directions) and Report Viewer.

You should be assigning users from Active Directory and not SQL. As you can see from my capture below, I typed in Admin, and anything resembline Admin, like Administrator appears in the search criteria. If you are typing in a SQL User you will not see results.

I launched Management Reporter from inside GP2013 and arrived at the same screen above by using the File tab subsequently going to new user tab. None of my user names were found on the search. And, my site was installed with an administrator as sa which resulted in over 1000 search references (none which matched) so I don't know the domain name (or directory) by trying that search. Thank you for trying to help. I will have to file a regular customer source request.

Here is a forum entry, which may help in this situation. It just occurred to me you may have deployed using SQL Authentication - my deployments are universally Windows Authentication via the Data Mart.
