Copilot Agent on Portal - Not Working

Hi! I'm new to setting up the Copilot Agent for Power Pages.
  1. I've created an agent
  2. Added instructions
  3. Published the Agent
The chat bot icon already appeared on my portal, and displayed the chat window. However, when I try to initiate to type on the chat bot window, I keep getting the message "Taking longer than usual to connect."

Any ideas?

I have the same question (1)

    Hi there,

It sounds like you've successfully set up your Copilot Agent for Power Pages, but the message "Taking longer than usual to connect" typically indicates a connectivity or configuration issue. Here are a few things to check:

    1. Agent Publishing Status: Double-check that the agent is fully published and active in Copilot Studio.
    2. Authentication Setup: Ensure that the portal and agent are correctly configured to use the same authentication method (e.g., Azure AD).
    3. Environment Matching: Confirm that the Power Pages site and the Copilot Agent are in the same environment.
    4. Network or Firewall Restrictions: Check if any network policies or firewalls are blocking the connection to the Copilot service.
    5. Browser Console Logs: Open the browser’s developer tools and inspect the console for any errors that might give more insight.

If the issue persists, try republishing the agent or restarting the portal. You can also raise a support ticket with Microsoft for deeper diagnostics.

Let me know if this helps!

Update to this issue. As per the MS Support, they have checked in the backend and confirmed that this is a known issue from their end and the actual fix will be deployed some time in January 2026.

Could you share more details on MS's response? I haven't been able to locate a relevant ticket in the known issues list.
