Hi,

I would like to ask a few things about Item Vendor Catalogue:

What does Item Vendor Catalogue used for?

How do you calculate Lead Time Calculation?

What is Variant Code and what does it do in Item Vendor Catalogue?

Let’s say your vendor sells 200 items. You currently buy 20 of those and you have “item” records for them. In this case you might have the other 180 items as catalogue items. This speeds up the creation of the “item” record. You can also add a catalogue item to a sales/purchase document.

Lead time uses date calculations. So if it takes 2 weeks then add 2W. 1 month is 1M. 1 week plus 20 days is 1W+20D. A lot of variations here.

A variant code would be something like a colour or a size. For example a t shirt might come in many sizes and colours but they all cost the same. You can have price breaks on variant as well though.

    Hi Josh,

    Thank you for the clarity!

May I ask if there is any documentation of the full list of variantions of data that I can insert in the Lead Time Calculations or the Variant Code?

I see that there are WD, Q and C. What are these?

    Thank you!

This has a good outline: wiki.chasesoftware.co.za/.../mobile

Variants the list is up to you based on the item. A great explanation is given here: navessentials.wordpress.com/.../
