I've seen a lot of different options on this but nothing appears to work as the client expects. They have 18 companies, most of them with different fiscal year ends.
For instance, a simple 2 company example with Company A fiscal year end Oct 31st and Company B fiscal year end Nov 30th.
Running a year to date P&L at November 30th, with company B as the main company, they are expecting 12 months of data, Dec 1, 2007 to Nov 30, 2008 from both companies.
I cannot for the life of me get this to work in FRx (6.7 sp9).

Jen,
It sounds like FRx is looking at just the periods, not the dates.
I may have a solution for you. My company is developing consolidation software for exactly this situation; would you be interested in discussing an opportunity where your client gets free software in exchange for participating in our beta? The software not only performs GAAP-compliant consolidation, but also acts as a plug&play BI solution.
If you or your client is interested, I'd appreciate speaking with you. You can reach me at rschultz<at>100wattsolutions<dot>com (of course, replace the <> items with @ & .). Or, just take a look at our website at www.100wattsolutions.com (although it's still a work in progress :)).
Thanks for your time in review this. I hope you find a solution for your client, even if it isn't mine!
