Dyn365 Business Central CSP

Hello all,

are you help us? We bought Dynamics 365 Business Central in CSP program. Cloud environment is not available in our country yet.

So we decided to run on-premise solution, which is available.

First of all we had an issue to found out a installation which we finally got from this community forum.

Now we have issue with the license keys. Where we can obtain license key?

    Hi Olister,

    We have licence Dynamics 365 Business Central from CSP program and we want install it on on-premises.

    Unfornately we are unable find licence key.

    Hi Martin,

    As per the licensing guide, you need at least one Saas based License and Business Central On-Premise Subscription based or Perpetual License.

    I believe that the license should automatically connect through your subscription.

    You can contact with your CSP to get more information. I will keep you updated if I find anything.

    Hi Martin,

    This looks like a Business Central SaaS (On Cloud) licence.

    You will need to buy an On-Premise Licence as well which will be Subcription based or Perpetual based.

    Kindly confirm with your CSP and mention clearly stating that you need a Business Central On-Premise license.

    From what I can understand, Business Central On-Premise requires a .flf license file which is supposed to imported in Business Central Tenant using Powershell.

    Import-NAVServerLicense -ServerInstance XXX -LicenseFile C:\XXXX

    Yes this is SaaS licence. However we don't any option how to order on-premises Business Central.

    Regarding to licensing sheets for Business Central it should be possible use SaaS licence Business Central Premium as "dual use rights" which means we should be able run on-premise Business Central.

    So, you saying we should run powershell in our tenant to get .flf license?

    Martin,

    I'm not sure if SaaS license can be used as On-Premise license.

    All I'm saying is that On-Premise Licence is a .flf file and you will be getting it from your CSP.

    You need to contact your CSP to give you the .flf for On-Premise License.

    The powershell command I have given is to import .flf file into your On-Premise Tenant.

    After buying the SaaS License from CSP, you need to goto partner source and then download the flf file.
