When I log into the system I see the list, but when I move around in the system, the list is not updated. When a colleague logs into the system with the same user but from a different computer, the list is updated correctly.

The problem occurs on my computer (only one in my organisation, online) as well as for some in a client's installation (also Online).

Does anyone know how to solve it?

Hello Dang22,

Since in another computer the problem does not reproduce, looks like the problem is related machine's web browsers or cache, I would suggest:

-Open a private browser section and check if the problem happens.

-If it is possible, check in other browsers if the same behavior reproduces, if not try to clean up the browser cache and consider to reset the settings.

-Also consider to clean up the temp files folder in your machine.

Hi Gisselle,

thank you for your answer, unfortunately it did not work (I've tried to clear cache and have entered in Private or incognito. It would also be strange if it did work as I can see the changes in recently accessed on my computer if the changes have been made logged in on a different computer. It just does not update the recently records on from my machine.

More ideas?

I have seen behaviour where recent posts are not saved to the recently viewed menu. Some posts will be on the list - but not the most recent. And the list does not update. This applies to both Internet Explorer, Edge and Chrome and on different PC's in the same domain. Both CRM 2015 and CRM 2016. Online. If posts are pinned - a refresh (F5) of the page removes the pins again.

For one of the orgs: If user signs into CRM from a PC outside the domain recently viewed posts are updated.

For another org: Different users within the same domain experiences different behaviour. Some can see recent posts - some not.

So it seems to be an Internet Security issue - but which setting controls this?

We have the exact same problem on our on-prem crm 2016 installation (sp1).

Did you manage to solve the problem? Trying diffrent browsers or clearing the cache does not solve the problem.

hi, yes, the answer in my case was the default language pack on my computer. I had Swedish, and it didn't work. We did a lot of installation activities with MS, including patches etc, but in the end I reinstalled my computer to a different language and that solved it. I think there may be a patch from MS that solves it. Check with them. Good luck!

We do have the problem on computers running swedish installation of Windows 8 (it works on computers using english).

I'll check with MS if they have a patch for this.

I have seen this explanation now a few times. Apparently it is a Nordic problem. I have not tested it further. I would make sense though why some can see the recent posts and others can't. It is quite normal to have either English or Danish as standard language in DK, even within the same organisation.

And I have now tested. As soon as Windows has English (US) language interface, the recently viewed posts work. When the same PC get Danish language interface in Windows, the recently viewed post do not work and cannot be pinned.

I found a solution to the problem. Hopefully this will help Microsoft to make a fix.

In main.js there is a function called $J_3 where there is a line that makes a regular match against the last downloaded “recentlyviewed” datastring (inside $v_0).

The regular expression against the datastringvalue is /Timestamp:Loaded=([^,]+),Updated=([^,]+),Saved=([^,]*)([\s\S]*)/ .
When using a browser set to a NONE-Nordic language the result of the string is the following (W. Europe Daylight Time):

When using a browser set to a Nordic language the result of the string is the following (Västeuropa, sommartid).

When there is not match for the regular expression, the script will make a new webrequest for a datastring, that will overwrite the currently saved "recently viewed"-objects.

I made a dirty fix to the script and replaced the line of code $v_0.match(this.$1N_3) with $v_0.replace("/Västeuropa,/g","Västeuropa").match(this.$1N_3) and it started working.

This issue is occuring for our CRM 2016 UR 1 on-prem system as well. If the windows installation is the reason actually, is there a fix prepared by Microsoft?
