Canvas Power App over Business Central

Hi Community,

I'm good in developing Power Apps, but I'm very new in Business Central, so this might be a stupid question.

Is BC using dataverse in the back-end? And thus can I just customize the tables to my needs and built a power app on top of it?

I'm a bit confused since I can not find the table view and the data as I used to do....

Thank you for clearing my thoughts here :-)

    Hi

I have been told that you can use both Connection to BC and dataverse.

I know you can integrate BC with dataverse. See this article https://yzhums.com/8566/ and this for more info https://yzhums.com/17065/

This is short video about BC and Power App www.youtube.com/watch

    Or longer video www.youtube.com/watch

    Hi MahGah,

Thank you for this information. It's quite different then Dynamics - Sales and not very suitable for building quick customization.

    Hi,

Back-end of BC is NOT Dataverse, so that Integration between BC-Dataverse feature is provided.

I agree. Dynamics - Sales has some future that I wish we had in BC. But you can use Dataverse integration or direct connection to BC.

Even though Business Central is not built on Dataverse you have lots of standard API for Business Central that you can use in your PowerApps.  And there is a standard connector for Power Apps that can connect to these API's.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../

On top of that you can build custom API's in Business Central that can be used from Power Apps.

All the major business logic is available in he standard API's.
