What is the difference between sending the email as a queue and sending the email as a User?

Hi,

I would like to know what is the difference  between  sending the email as a queue and sending the email as user.

We have around 5 different emails that we will be using to send automated email through workflows. And there are 5 different  queues setup for those email address. So wondering why didn't they create 5 users instead  of 5 queues to send email from.

Any experts advice is highly appreciated.

    Users require CRM licenses, queues do not. Beyond that - it's just an email address.

    As Jason said, creating a user requires CRM license while queue does not.

    Users email id is specific to that user while a queue's email id can be a for a team/department like sales@abc.com

    Apart from that, any email received in a queue will be created as a queue item to work upon and can be picked up by any of the queue member to work upon. This is not possible on an email received to user's email id.
