Rejecting approvals

I am currently testing using the workflows in business central. I noticed that, in general, whenever someone in a workflow rejects an approval, users are still able to post the entry for that workflow. In the workflow under the response for "An approval request is rejected" I have the "Add record restriction" response. Is this the correct way to go about it or does anyone have recommendations on how to fix this?

If rejected the status is returned to “Open”. This means you’d have to send for approval again. I’d check a template workflow and then adjust yours accordingly

The issue we're having is when we reject it is not requiring the user to submit an approval request. It is allowing them to post and no longer has the restriction of requiring an approval.

What is the status of the document after the approval is rejected?

You should "Add Record Restriction" earlier in the process--like when the record is created/modified or in the case of a document--usually when it is "Released".

When the approval is approved, you "Remove Record Restriction".

When the approval is rejected you "Reject the approval request"--which updates the approval records, but leaves the record restriction in place.
