I am an Accountant interested in using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Configuration Vendor Tables 38 Purchase Header and 39 Purchase Line to post multiple Purchasing invoices in one posting. Can anyone familiar with this process provide some guidance?

    Hi

If you're looking to post multiple purchase invoices in one go using Tables 38 and 39, there are a couple of solid options depending on how you want to approach it

    Here’s what you can try
    • Use the Batch Posting feature in Business Central to post multiple documents at once. You can select several purchase invoices from the list and post them together. This is built-in and doesn’t require custom development
    • If you're importing from Excel or another system, consider using the Purchase Invoice Import add-on. It lets you bulk upload invoices and credit memos from Excel without needing a strict template. You choose the fields you want to import, and it handles the rest
    • For automation, you can also set up Job Queues to post invoices in the background, which helps avoid performance issues during work hours
    • If you're comfortable with AL development, you can write a codeunit that loops through your data and inserts records into Tables 38 and 39, then calls the posting routines

There’s a walkthrough video showing how to use Excel with the Bulk Purchase Invoice Creation App that might help visualize the process

If you find this helpful, feel free to mark this as the suggested or verified answer.

    Cheers
    Jeffrey
