HI

I am looking to understand how to have the starting date in planning worksheets inline with our production set up. Currently starting dates are at the end of 2022, i have read some documentation and played with fields but cannot get this right.

Cheers

RE: Starting Date-Time in planning worksheets

I try to explain my method but honestly each company is different

First: in production order you have due date. When you create production order with backward method (when you refresh production order) then it start from the date in the past and make sure product be ready for today. Forward refresh start from today and move forward.

Planning worksheet uses backward method. Then all depends on your planning parameters. Let say you have Fixed Reorder QTY and your inventory is less than Reorder Point. Hence, MRP wants to rebuild inventory today and from backward method put the start date in the past time.

You need to work with planning parameters, demand, etc to get the correct date. See this document learn.microsoft.com/.../design-details-handling-reordering-policies

In your case can you put the start date for Planning Worksheet on 12/29/2022 and finished date on 2/30/2023? Do you see any changes?
