We are lookin to consolidate our sharepoint servers. Is it possible to move our existing business portal application over to an existing sharepoint server? If so, recommendations or just perform an install to an existing server farm?

You'll want BP on its own web site and site collection. This will make things easier now and in the future for upgrades.
