Hello All,

We are working in D365 10.0.9.

We are trying to utilize the Trace functionality to capture different process (Create PO, Batch order, SO etc) for user training.

I captured a process (which is not a dev box) and downloaded the .etl file and saved in local machine.

I don't see the captured trace, do I development environment to capture trace?

Do I need development environment and access to view the file?

Do I Trace parser on my PC to view the captured process? if yes how do I do that?

Once I view the events I captured, how do I convert to word doc for user training?

Please share your expertise.

Yes you need the trace parser. Here are a few links to help you out.

I don't see how Trace Parser would help with user training. A much better option is using Task Recorder and generating documents and task guides. Here is a brief overview: Task Guides – The Best Feature in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations?.

Thank you Martin for your response.

I do not see 'Task recorder' on my QA box. Is it available only in Dev box?

or any other Parm should be enabled to view Task recorder?

    Please advice.
