Applying unit of measure values from an item template for engineering items

I am using the Engineering change management module to created engineering items. I have an item template applied to the product release policy. All of the fields I have defaulted on the item template are being applied to the released product in the appropriate company except all (4) units of measure. The Purchase UOM, Sales UOM, Inventory UOM, and BOM UOM all show as blank when the item is released. I have tried with and without a default UOM on Inventory management parameters with no luck.

Here is the item with certain fields populated based on the template, after being released to the transactional company. The UOMs are all blank.

The release policy assigned to the "Flat Die" engineering category uses an item called "TEMPL_DIE" as the template.

The item being used as a template does have the unit "pr" set on the Purchase UOM, as well as the others. Other fields (i.e. Underdelivery) are successfully populating on the released product.

You can update it from Released products form.

Net weight and Units doesnt populate through ECO. Only BOM unit will be Updated.
