Deployment extension to business central

Hello Everyone,

I have a question. I am a business central functional consultant. My company recently wanted me to develop a custom workflow for item journal. First, I simulated on a test environment and it worked perfectly. However, deploying to a production environment has not been fruitful. I could publish successfully but I keep getting a permission (execute) issues for the created codeunits. I have generated the necessary permissions (using AL: Generate permissions) and also make sure i have the super access rights with a full user experience. It seems to me that the license needs certain rights or entitlement to publish objects to BC. Please, kindly note our environment is on-prem.

What can be done please?

Regards

Bryma

If it is on-pre, this may be a license issue, such as not reallocating the object range.
You are using a development license in the development environment, so there is no such problem.
In addition, you need to pay attention to the following issues.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    @Jun,

Kindly see attached image. This also happens when we try to write a codeunit for API connector.

From my understanding, Execute Permission is required when a user need to execute certain codeunits, and not all permissions require it.

I would suggest checking your Effective Permissions in the test environment and check if all permissions are the same as the production environment and if they are different, make necessary adjustments.

    Check the Execute Permission column.
Check the permissions that are needed to access your codeunits.

    I hope this helps,

    Best Regards,
    Achille Songa.

Did you try the Permission Recorder tool in Business Central to record the permissions required for the custom workflow?
This can help identify any missing permissions that need to be added to the permission set.
