BC v17.3 - possibilities to change values in posted documents

Hey all!

I`d like to ask you whether there are any possibilities to change the values in some fields in the posted documents? E.g. Sales Shipment or Posted Sales Invoice?

I know that generally we should not do that and it is not the way, but I`m looking for possibilities.

In previous versions with C/AL you could:

- change the value from the SQL database

- change the value via the configuration packages with Partner License

- change the value form the Development Environment with Partner License

What possibilities are there in AL and SaaS/Cloud installation, where?:

- you cannot access the SQL database

- you cannot use the configuration packages because of lack of permissions

- you cannot edit fields in the posted documents

Thank you in advance for the answers!
Much appreciated :)

All the best,
Simon

    Hello Simon,

One example where this is done in the BC standard code is the "Posted Sales Shipment" document, where you should be able to change some shipping details, like the Agent, Agent Service, Package Tracking No., etc.

In BC17 this is can be done using the "Process / Update Document" action.

You might look into the code that does that.

    Hope this helps

    Hmmm dangerous ;-)

You could write code in an object, and run it using the permissions property:

But again, use with care and test it in depth because, there's no undo when you make a mistake...

    Thank you Dirk!

Of course, it should be the first place to look for that.... so obvious! :)

    Thank you Steven!

    All is clear now.

    PS.

Hope to see you in person in the next Directions :)
