Set Regarding

Hi

I have noticed that when I press the Track button in Outlook 2010 with some emails this sets the email to the contacts listed in the email and with other emails it includes the account of the person sending the email. How do I make the set regarding, adds account of email sender,  more consistant across all emails when I use the Track button?

Thanks in advance for your reply

The Track function matches all Accounts, Contacts, Leads email addres and link any matched records.

I would check the Account and Contact's email address if they are the same.

    This is by design.

If a contact is related to an account, the emails related to the contact is also viewable on the account. This does not mean that there is a relationship between your email and the account, but only that on the account there is a special view that allows you to see all emails related to sub entities like Contacts, Opportunities, Cases etc.

So when ever you track an email to a contact.. you will be able to see the email on the parent account. I hope that answers your question.
