Rename Employee Class ID for Payroll

We have a need to rename an EE Class ID that was originally called "REGULAR." Now they have both salaried and hourly EE's but rather than just use the REGULAR Classs ID for Salaried, we would like to just rename it without doing any damage. Is this possible, or should we create the a new SALARIED Class ID and move the appropriate EE's into the Class? No payroll codes have been assigned to any Class, but are available to all at this point.

    Hi John,

I do not believe you can change the ID of a class once it has been created. Your best bet is to create new classes and assign them to your employees. Be careful with your answer to the dialog "Do you want to use default information from the employee class record?" If you say 'Yes' some information may change to your employee record that you do not want to change.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Thanks, Leslie. I kind of thought that would be the answer, but boy was I hoping for a "rename" option! :-)
