Change of partner Business Central Bridge to the cloud 1

Hi,

We have a customer that is eager to change reseller for their Dynamics Busines Central Essentials Bridge to the cloud 1 licenses. They bought the licenses back in 2022 and still have 2 more years left on the agreement. Is there any way to change the reseller for the last two years of the agreement?

Best regards,

Henrik

    Hi,

I guessed it wouldn't be so easy. But I hoped someone had some experiece from a similar case.
We are unfortunetly, for this case, a direct partner to Microsoft. So we cant talk to any distributor. But I know from my years working for a distributor that would had been an option.

I have done a support ticket to microsoft earlier regarding this and they say it's possible, but I'm still doubtful it will work in the end.

    BR,

    Hi Henrik.

This is a question you should address to your distributor/CSP. You will not be able to add the SKUs related to this promo yourself, so if even possible, this is something they need to perform "under the hood".
I would guess the chances are best if you use the same distributor as their current partner, so they can just change the VAR for the subscription in their system.

That beeing said, I am kind of pessimistic on your behalf. My experience is that this kind of scenarios are difficult to figure out and time consuming. The time spend solving it, can very fast consume the expected revenue from the licenses for these 2 years. Maybe you should just advice the customer to keep the licenses at their current partner until the end of the period, ask for "Dynamics 365 Administrator" GDAP and give them assistance from now, and finally add new licenses when Bridge to cloud expires? Just a thought.

Let me know how it goes - could be interesting to know for future reference,

    BR,
    Andreas
