Uploads Taking 9 hours to complete

Hello-

Yesterday my colleague in London uploaded 5000 contacts into our CRM 2011 and the upload took 9 hours to complete. What is causing this to take so long? Is this the expected duration?

Hi,

how many fields did he upload? did you know if there is some plug-in on the create of contact?

check your Asyc server or database is not under too much load.

9 hours seems to be very long to complete 5000 records import. May be you guys have too many relationship on the contact record with multiple plugins/workflow that might increase the time to import the records. I would start with checking any long running workflows and plugins, while importing you could disable all plugins/wokflows that will improve the perfomance of the data import
