Generate reminders by invoice issue date

Is it possible to generate reminders by invoice issue date, rather than by due date? Any workarounds for that? If not, is it possible to generate by issuing reminders on the first of the month for the next 3 months? What would the formula be for the grace period and due date be on the 3 levels of reminders?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Unfortunately it is not possible to create the reminder based on Invoice issues/Posting/document date. Reminder will only be created once the invoice is overdue.

In case what you can do is you can keep the Payment terms of your customers as Current Month (CM). In this case all the invoices issues in current month will have due date of the last date of month. Also you can follow same method for all 3 levels of Reminder.

    Following setups will help.
1 - Keep the Payment terms of Customers as Current Month (Create a payment terms with Due date calculation set as CM).
2 - Create Reminder payment terms with Level 1 - Grace period 0D, Due Date Calculation CM, Level 2 - Same, Level -3 same.

    How this will work?
Let's take example that you issues an Invoice with document date of 08/01/25 or 08/20/25, for both the invoice due date will be 08/31/25. Hence first reminder will be issues on 09/01/25, second reminder on 10/01/25 and third on 11/01/25.

Unfortunately, this is not possible; it's standard practice and would require customization if it were to be implemented.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

In standard Business Central, reminders are always generated based on Due Date, not Invoice/Posting Date, and there is no setup or formula to change that behavior. The only indirect workaround is to control the Due Date via Payment Terms (Due Date = Posting Date + X days) and then use Reminder Terms → Grace Period to time when reminders are created. Also, BC cannot automatically issue reminders on a fixed calendar date (like the 1st of the month for the next 3 months); reminders are created based on what is overdue as of the work date, so this would require manual monthly runs or customization. There is no standard grace-period formula that supports “future scheduled reminders” by month.
