Connecting Business Central with CRM

Hi:

I have read that the Common Data Service (CDS) is used to connect Business Central with CRM, as discussed here:

Entities in Dynamics 365 Sales, such as orders, are integrated with equivalent types of entities in Business Central, such as sales orders. To work with Dynamics 365 Sales data you set up links, called couplings, between entities in Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales.

I'd like to import contacts in CRM as vendors in Business Central.

So, where can I find this CDS tool and test this?

Thanks!

John

The Common Data Service (CDS) is now called Dataverse in Microsoft’s ecosystem. You can access it through Power Apps by navigating to make.powerapps.com and selecting Tables under Dataverse. To import contacts from CRM (Dynamics 365 Sales) as vendors in Business Central, use Power Automate or the Business Central Virtual Table in Dataverse. Set up a coupling between CRM contacts and Business Central vendors via the Business Central Connector in Power Automate. Alternatively, use Dual-write for real-time sync between Dataverse and Business Central.

    Hello,

The url for Common Data Service is https://make.powerapps.com. You can easily connect to it via the Assisted Setup.

    Thanks.

This is a good guide for making the changes you are thinking of: docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-how-to-modify-table-mappings-for-synchronization

Search for d365 and the page you need will appear. From there you can access the integration mapping. I would run the assisted setup initially to get the connection up and running. Suppress the integration options you don’t wish to use.
