Hello All,

Is it possible to move the data along with MSCRM solution to the production.

Scenario:- I have customize the CRM on the dev environemt and all the customizations i have added to the unmanaged solution.

after the import of the solution is done , i am not able to see the values in the production environment i.e. say i have a custom entity X which is used as a dropdown in entity B . while customization on dev i have put some values on the CRM dev but after import on production i am not able to see the values on production.

You will have to import records of these custom entities. (Top option)

You can't move a solution with data in case of on-premise.

For online, you can actually copy production to sandbox instance

For on-premise, you can restore db from production to dev

But the scenarion you are telling, is more like, you have created some entities for configuration which now you want o production. Follow the steps below

Export entity X from dev and save it as a csv and import to prod

Export entity B from dev and save it as csv and import to prod

    Hi,

In order to export all your customizations, please refer the following link.

    www.microsoft.com/.../export-your-customizations-as-a-solution.aspx

There is also a data import wizard in dynamics crm as descibed below.

    Hi,

You can use the configuration migration tool to migrate data from one environment to another. I've used this several times and it works pretty good. Especially in the scenario you're looking for. It's built for scenario's like yours.
