Out sales process involve selling unique finished products as each time we create a new combination of raw materials - kind of product configuration on the fly. I'm looking at options implementing this and integration production order to sales order. Here are the options and problems.
1. Create Sales order line to a generic BOM or finished product name by category, and separately create a production order, update components and routing to reflect the actual for a the specific SO. Problem is linking is manual reservation lines comes after creating the production order
2. Create Production order from sales order, problem is you cannot change routing when the reservation exist for the production order so you have to delete the reservation , update routing and re-link
3. Create a customisation on SO screen with a button to create production order- have custom table linked to SO line with components and rounting so Sales Order entry fills in all in same module
How do others implement made to order without predefined BOMs? We do not want to create a BOM for each order as we'll end up with 1000s of BOMs?
